Wow! How would you love to go on aGhost Tour in the beautiful Historic Hawkesbury?

Due to popular demand we are now able to offer these wonderful and exciting ghost tours at Windsor just for you. The Hawkesbury Valley was the frontier of Australia until 1814, when William Cox built the road to the West. Experience walking with The Spirits of The Hawkesbury's Pioneers...."If you dare".

Janice Hart, a member of the Hawkesbury Historical Society, will be your guide and your journey begins next door to the Macquarie Arms Hotel at No. 7 Thompson Square, Windsor. Once the home of the pioneer settler - Chief Contable and Coroner, John Howe. Hear the strange tales from the building's history and discover what psychics have sensed for your self.

Come along on a lantern lit Heritage Walk around Windsor. Visit Green Hills Burial Ground, the oldest burial site in the Hawkesbury Valley, which predates the arrival of Governor Macquarie in 1810. Feel the presence of the convicts who were hanged at the Courhouse and then laid to rest without ceremony. In 1834 the bushranger 'Bexley' was hanged and buried, together with his rope in the condemned quarter of the burial ground.

Phillip Cunningham, a leader at the Battle of Vinegar Hill in 1804, shares the cold ground with Belley. We visit the site of the Government Store where he was hanged without trial from the stairs.

View the 'Macquarie Arms' Hotel, built in 1815. It is the oldest hotel in Australia still being used for it's original purpose. Feel the aura of important men and women from days gone bye as you walk where Governor Macquarie planned our country's future. You may feel the presence of Mary who died here last century in a fire.

At the end of the tour, relax and ponder the sights and sounds of the evenings. Also available is a Tour of St Matthew's Cemetery.

Please Note: Comfortable walking shoes (NOT SANDALS) are essential.
